Found inside a wall in the Middle East, black kitten saved by military contractor who takes him home 7,000 miles away

You never know what life will throw at you.

When we travel, our whole world can be reshaped and flip upside down. When that happens, it can be exciting and also scary. There's a big wide world out there, and no one really knows what they're doing. In this story, a military contractor is working a job in the Middle East. He was leaving a market and thought he saw a grocery bag against the inside of a roundabout. After doing another loop around he noticed it was actually a tiny black kitten! He put the car in the middle of the roundabout and went to save the kitten's life. Someone honked at him, and he yelled back because the kitten's life was more important. He didn't care what would happen, he took the kitten, drove away, and the rest is history. 7,000 miles and 7 years later and they're both living their best life. The kitten even has a brother now!

Life is so full of surprising and unexpected events. Serendipity is everywhere if you let it. What makes serendipity so special is that it reminds us we can't control everything in our lives. Careful planning or obsessing over things can happen, but it doesn't guarantee anything in our future. We may have experiences we never imagined for ourselves, and we may surprise ourselves at times. It's all okay, and there's no right or wrong way to do life. Some of the best days of our lives come from having no expectations. And some of the best memories we form aren't the ones like our wedding day or someone's birthday, but the random days of fun that spring from a lack of need or expectation. It's quite brave to stop in the middle of the road of a roundabout to save a kitten. Most people wouldn't even see it and would continue to drive right past it. The fact that he noticed the little thing at all just tells you how special their connection really is, and even in the photos you can see it.
